Team Members 2009-2010
President - Craig Mckirgan LLB
Craig was in charge of the overall day to day activities that The Enterprise
Gym organised. He was in his second year at university and studied philosophy
and psychology. He started at the enterprise gym in 07 and came second in what
is now called the Discovery Challenge. Previous to coming to university he took
a two year gap year to travel around south east Asia/Australia.
Senior
Vice President - James Murray MA (Hons), MSc
James was a
postgraduate studying International Business, Marketing and Human Resource
Management at the University of Dundee. He became a member of the Enterprise
Gym for the first time in 2005, and went of to win “Iron man” of that year.
After
studying abroad in North Carolina he then returned to The EGym in Semester two
of 2009. His team went on to “Win Champion Team for 2009”, setting up The
Student Emporium, which supplies starter-kits to students coming to university.
Over the
course of summer 2009 James won the University Of Dundee Postgraduate School Of
Management and Policy Dean's Medal for Business Enterprise and
Entrepreneurialism.
“Running
your own business gives you freedom from the office and makes you your own
boss. The Enterprise Gym gave me the skills I needed to get started, and gave
me access to invaluable people that helped me along the way (and that still
do), and as my business idea proved workable I even got an office! As well as
being a fun social activity, the EGym is informative, relaxed and best of all
free!"
Vice
President DS3C- Jaimie Bell BAcc (Hons)
Jaimie is studied accountancy with Spanish at the University. She became a
member of the Enterprise Gym team at the start of her third year as Vice
President of Communications. Her job was to oversee the general management of
the website. Jaimie kept members up to date on the latest events and answered
any queries members or students may have had about the EGym or events, while
also assisting in the Training workshops each week.
Jaimie
spent 3 months of her summer 2008 in New York on an educational exchange
programme due to this experience she is now also a Student marketing
co-ordinator for Bunac.

joining the Enterprise Gym my business skills have developed greatly from time
management to assertiveness. The EGym has given me the chance to network with
extremely friendly and willing to help local business entrepreneurs. It is one
great stepping stone to hit on the road to a successful career”
Vice President of Communications– Nicola Tait MA (Hons)
Nicola is studying Mathematics and Financial Economics at the university. She
became a member of the Enterprise Gym at the beginning of her third year at
university and attended the weekly workshops for a semester before joining the
management team in Jan 09 when she was appointed as Vice President of
Operations.
In the role
of this job she was responsible for the smooth running of events and their
organisation. Now Niki is a Vice President of The Enterprise Gym and is
responsible for the general management of the website and announcing all past
and future events.
Nicola is
also a keen skier and loves to travel both to ski and experience the culture of
different parts of the world. Niki thoroughly enjoyed working as project
coordinator for a volunteer project in Nepal in summer 2008.

Enterprise Gym has given me initiative to establish a good work ethic while
also giving me the chance to network with important local business men and
woman. I feel the EGym has opened up many more opportunities than I thought
possible within employment or self-employment.”
Ambassador - DoJ Frances Brown BA (Hons)
Frances completed her BA (Honours) Fashion Design with Manufacture, Marketing
and Promotion at Huddersfield University, achieving a First for her
Dissertation/Marketing Report. She is now studying a Master of Design at The
University of Dundee.
Frances has
had great experience in the world of business. She spent two years as the owner
of ‘Something Found’ – an online boutique with a focus on fair retail and
handcraft selling clothes, accessories, home wares etc. As well as this, she
set up ‘Frances Brown Jewellery’ – a wholesale and bespoke jewellery business.
“Setting up
and running the business gave me broad and invaluable education in
entrepreneurship, marketing, promotions, web training, money and stock
management and networking. People skills were hugely important when dealing with
suppliers, retailers, customers and the two work experience staff I employed.
Applying for grants and funds helped me to focus on goals and succinct and
interesting presentations of my businesses.”

Ambassador-
Ebenezer Aizeboje
Ebenezer is
currently studying Accounting at the University. Eb loves to engage
in activities that help to exercise and develop his enterprising and
communication skills. He has been a member of the E-gym for the past year .The
knowledge and experience Eb gained from participating in the various activities
organised by the Egym has helped him a great deal in his academic study and put
him in good stead in for the workplace.

Web
administrator - Ian Buchan
Ian
authorises new members into The Enterprise Gym and is in overall charge of the
day to day running of the online side of The Enterprise Gym. This includes
"accepting" new members into the E-Gym, making new announcements,
uploading new resources for E-Gym members, approving and coding externally
organised events. Ian is a fourth year Interactive Media Design student.

Intern
(Senior) - Alexander McCooke
Alex is the
head of the student side of The Enterprise Gym. In his third year funded by the
Scottish Institute for Enterprise he is involved in public relations, promotion
and providing general help for students who want to get involved in business or
become more enterprising generally. Alex is a final year Law student and also
the Director of the university's Young Entrepreneur Society.
Intern -
Monique Esingle
Monique is
in her final year of Accountancy and has been studying in Dundee for 4 years.
She is from French Cameroon and speaks French, English and Spanish. Last year,
Monique and other DARE (Development And Research Expedition) students raised
£2500 for a project in Guatemala to help orphans. The TEG-Students In Free
Enterprise projects are to be Monique's top priority within the Gym.
Marketing
manager - Craig Alexander
Craig

Economics student.
Press
Manager - Deeshun Forbes
Deeshun is
The E-Gym's official journalist. Deeshun is in charge of press and publications
for the Enterprise Gym and compiles the monthly newsletter. Deeshun is a final
year Law student.
Creative
Designer - Lyndon Veale
Lyndon
provides the design and graphics input to The E-Gym's activities including
adverts, posters and promotional materials generally. He is a final year Product
Design student and rose to fame after winning last year's Enterprise Gym
'Design a Beer Mat' competition for art students. Lyndon is also a keen member
of the Dundee University Tae Kwon-Do club and holds the position of Treasurer
on the committee.
Postgraduate International Ambassador -
Shao Li
Shao
completes his MSc in International Professional Communication this year. He is
from Shanxi Province in the north of China. He is a prize-winning member of The
Enterprise Gym and is actively pursuing a startup in Dundee.
Postgraduate International Ambassador -
Konrad Witek
Konrad is
from Krakow in Poland and is studying International Professional Communication.
Fluent in German, Polish and English, Konrad is keen to talk to and help
international students interested in developing business skills and who want to
network with local companies. His spare time (when not slaving for money !) is
spent performing in the student Musical Society (OPSOC).
