Overview of DS3C

We live in a world where we not only need to advance as a society, but we also need to do it without leaving a carbon footprint. Much debate and confusion has arisen on the way we can progress this idea. DS3C is our contribution to that debate and may even help to reduce some of the confusion!!

The first annual Dundee Student Sustainability Showcase and Conference (DS3C) was held week beginning 9th November. This was aimed at helping students understand and engage with the challenges of achieving and living in a sustainable society.

Organised by DUSA and The Enterprise Gym, the week from Monday to Thursday consisted of a number of external guest speakers, student presentations and DUSA Society events culminating in a conference on Friday all organised around 4 themes: Food&Water; Built Environment, Energy&Transport a General "catch all" theme.

The day also contained a student "sustainable business idea" competition with a cash prize for each of the 4 themes .
