Discovery Challenge

Each semester, teams of two to four members of The Enterprise Gym can enter the Discovery Challenge Business Plan Competition.

Each team comes up with a business idea, either a new product or service, or a novel development of an established idea. They will be helped in this by their assigned mentors from the local business community.

Each competition is divided into four areas:

1. Business card design and elevator pitches.
2. Marketing strategies
3. Financial planning and projections
4. Business plans

The first and third are incorporated within Training Workout sessions, and judged at the end of that session, the other two are judged based on written submissions. There are four prizes up for grabs each semester. 1st place is £1000 2nd is £400 3rd £200 and 4th £150

The winning teams are awarded their prizes in person at the Awards Ceremony. The winning team in the fourth section is also given six months' free accommodation in the Greenhouse incubator with which to start their business.
